Welcome to the wonderful world of fun and great memories that will last a life time!
The reason that these classic great toys are the best toys in the world is very simple. Most of these classic toys were created when we, (somewhat slightly older folk, LOL), were young, and there is an emotional attachment to them. I have added some recent classic new comer toys to the mix to spice things up a bit. That not with standing, they are simple, safe, and provide many great hours of good clean fun, and clean entertainment for children. They will leave them with those great memories that they will carry for a life time of the fun they had as little children.

Three Fun Modes of Play
Made with colorful, durable plastic construction, the Scoot 'n Scoop holds of child's play--and up to 42 pounds. The seat and gravel guard both detach from the truck body and snap in to different positions for a push mode, walk mode, and ride-on mode. With the seat in the up position, kids can easily push and pull the truck, and watch when moving forward as shape blocks get picked up in the dump bed. When the seat is down, these blocks fit into corresponding shapes on the seat. And of course, kids can sit on and ride the truck with the handle up or the steering wheel on. The Revvin' Beepin' Wheel starts with a turn of the purple key in the ignition, making funny engine noises and realistic road vibrations that turn off on their own. There's also an orange clicking gearshift, an adjustable blue mirror, directional blink lights, and a green horn with four different honking sounds. Drivers-in-training can play with the wheel attached to the truck or separately.
Put to the Driver's Test
The Scoot 'n Scoop is great for a range of young children--and though it's marketed toward boys, little girls will have fun with this toy too! While kids can play for a long time in any one of the truck's play modes, they're stuck in each one without a parent's help in moving the wheel, seat, and gravel guard. Attaching the gravel guard and seat is easy, but pressing both buttons down and lifting up at the same time to remove either is a pain and may require an extra hand. Parents will also have to attach the real axle with the included screw assembly. It only takes a minute and a small screwdriver, but adults should be careful to keep the small parts away from the kids. Children can throw their own toys in the dump bed, but unfortunately, the Scoot 'n Scoop only picks up the three included shape blocks. Just as much fun to play with on its own, the Revvin' Beepin' Wheel uses three AA batteries, which come included with the wheel.

In 1996 Independence Day rocked the box office, the "Macarena" began its trek up the charts before landing on wedding dance floors, and Elmo first showed the world his predilection for tickles. Tickle Me Elmo is remembered as one of the most difficult-to-find toys of the 1996--or any--holiday season.
Elmo gets more outrageous when you "tickle" him a second time, and the fun really starts with the third "tickle" session
Ten years later, T.M.X. Elmo (the X stands for 10) was unveiled to the world on Good Morning America on September 19. The most secretly guarded toy of the pre-holiday season, if not all time, T.M.X. Elmo was shown only to a few toy-industry insiders prior to his release. This secrecy didn't stop thousands of pre-orders from piling up. Though now that all is known, the obvious question is: Does T.M.X. Elmo deserve the hype?
When you first take him out of his box, T.M.X. Elmo doesn't seem all that grand. He looks after all, well, like Elmo. Covered in the soft red fur that one would expect from everyone's favorite Sesame Street character, T.M.X. Elmo stands an unimposing 14 inches tall. Even worse, he feels all hard and plasticy under his fur. But this Elmo is not meant for cuddles or hand holding or swaddling.
This Elmo is all about tickles.
Sit T.M.X. Elmo down and hit one of his three "tickle" spots. There's one under his chin, one on his belly, and one on top of his foot. Yes, this Elmo wiggles just like he did 10 years ago, but that's just the start. Elmo slaps his belly, falls forward with his butt sticking out, stands back up again only to topple backwards, kicks his legs over his belly, and then stands right back up, all while laughing hysterically.
"Again! Again!"
Elmo gets more outrageous when you "tickle" him a second time, and the fun really starts with the third "tickle" session. Elmo's fancy moves include falling over on his side, shimmying on his back, and what seems to be everyone's favorite: lying flat on his belly slapping the floor next to him as if he can't stop laughing. This Elmo has a serious case of the giggles. His trademark voice builds into a fit of histrionics, endless snickers that drown out everything but an unintelligible cackle until even Elmo admits he has had too much.
T.M.X Elmo requires 6 AA batteries, which are included, although these wore down quickly in our review copy. Elmo also has an on/off switch, so the tickles can be brought to an end when more than just Elmo has had too much. He moves a lot and needs a little open space for the full performance, although he does use his arm to determine his orientation periodically and stand back up if nothing is in the way. He gets a little stuck on uneven surfaces but for the most part performs amazingly well on carpet. On hardwood floors, Elmo works, but he occasionally slams his eyes on the floor in a way that seems it should halt the show.
In the end, T.M.X. Elmo is undeniably a trooper. Early reviews show that this turbocharged version of Tickle Me Elmo will follow the stellar path enjoyed by his much simpler predecessor. --David Morel

Tinker Toys - a favorite of children for a very long time.

Some people buy Uncle Milton's ant farms out of nostalgia, having been ant farmers themselves as kids. Others are charmed by the odd perspective created as the ants build outsize tunnels beneath a replica of a bucolic little farm. But if you're buying this toy on the pretense that it is, as the guidebook says, "a lesson in nature study," beware. The box says you'll see ants dig tunnels, erect bridges, and plan and construct highways and subways. What they dig are tunnels that connect what might loosely be called "chambers." And that's about it. Without a queen, new births, real food to gather, foraging trips, or other ant colonies to tangle with, what you'll purchase are ants that perform in a behavior-stunting environment. Adjusting the Flybar to Suit Your Weight
Choose to engage up to 12 rubber thrusters to determine the force of your bounce.
The Flybar is equipped with 12 thrusters--the rubber rods anchored to the lower mount. The top end of each thruster is designed to be hooked--or "engaged"--onto the upper mount in order to power the Flybar. By choosing how many thrusters to engage, you determine the force of the Flybar bounce. It's recommended that you start by engaging one thruster per twenty pounds of weight (i.e., if you weigh 160 lbs., engage eight out of the 12 thrusters). If you engage too many thrusters for your weight/ability, you'll encounter too much resistance. If you engage too few, you'll be able to bottom out (i.e., push the foot pegs to the ground) without even tapping your full strength. The ideal setting should allow you to nearly bottom out while jumping with your full strength.
Which Piston Length is Right for You?
Quickly adjust the piston to achieve a peak bounce height.
Piston Length can be set in nine positions, from seven inches to eighteen inches. Generally, the longer you set the piston, the higher you'll bounce. That's because most people can achieve a peak bounce height (measured from the foot-pegs to the ground) that's twice the piston length. In other words: if the piston is set at 12 inches, you'll end up with your feet 24 inches above the ground during a peak bounce. For novices, we recommend a shorter piston length for greater control, although even advanced users may prefer a shorter piston length for certain tricks or precision maneuvers.

Engaging the Thrusters
The patented Flybar 1200 spring system consists of 12 independent rubber thrusters. Each one is capable of storing up to 100 pounds of thrust when stretched to full extension (300%). Multiply that by 12 and that puts up to 1,200 pounds of thrust under you. (You didn't think the model number was coincidental, did you?) That's enough to get a 170-pound rider over 5 feet of elevation. Engaging thrusters is quick and easy and can be done with the outer shell on or off. Adjusting the number of thrusters will change the feel of the spring from soggy to stiff and can be used to limit the bouncing height of the Flybar for beginners. Adjustability is also how the Flybar is capable of accommodating such a wide range of rider weights. To start we recommend engaging one thruster for every 20 pounds of rider weight using a minimum of four at any time.
Flight control: The Flybar 1200's internals can be adjusted for the bouncer's weight and desire for airtime.
To engage a thruster, just use the included tool (that niftily stows in the Flybar's protective top cap) to lift the T-shaped hanger up and into its cradle in the upper mount. Disengaging is just the opposite. The slots on the Flybar outer shell allow you to do this without taking the Flybar apart. In under 30 seconds the Flybar can be adjusted to the appropriate spring setting and passed from a 120-pound rider to a 250-pound rider.
Powering the Pistons
Another great feature of the Flybar 1200 is piston height adjustability. The piston is easily adjusted via two bolts and a safety pin. This also can be done from inside or outside the Flybar outer shell. Just learning how to use the Flybar? Set the piston to 11 inches; it will limit your bounce height and make it easier to balance on the footpegs. Well practiced and ready for some airtime? Set the piston to the full 18 inches, jump onto the footpegs, and enjoy the view.

A chance to relive your childhood. Or are you haven't had that first time around then now is the time to enhance it. Both games require skill coordination strategy. They have been played down through the ages before there was plastic and rubber, however I must confess they are more fun to play with plastic, rubber, and metal.
Just on the outside chance that you missed these games, pickup sticks have different point values, and the object to pick up the stick with out disturbing the surrounding sticks. (Easier said than done). With jacks there are endless combinations however the main one game is to pick them all up one at a time then two at a time and so forth, The is an intrinsic joy on hearing the tinkle of metal jacks compressing in ones hand. The ball may bounce or just kept thrown up in the air like we used to do when it was a rock.
This has a fun factor of five, as it never gets tiring. Not much in the educational field and other than the coating on the ball it will outlast your enthusiasm.

- Those are all classic toys. I loved my Erector set as a kid, didn't even know they were still available. Legos were always great, too. Nowadays they're all thematic - superheros, movie themes, etc. We used to just get the pieces and figure out something to put together. At least they're still around. Sometimes it's hard to remember life before video games and electronic toys. Thanks for reminding us.

- Great lens, 5 ***** from me. The only negative comment I have is that it's maybe too long - tawkes forever to load. But it brought back lots of childhood memories. It was interesting to see that the Erector sets are still called Mecanno - same as in England where I grew up.
